Immediate Past Head of Civil Service of Benue State, Engr George Edeh, has emerged the new First Class Chief of Enone (Ado/ Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo).
He emerged after pulling 24 votes out of 37 valid votes cast to beat his closest rival Chief Christopher Onumah who scored 8 votes followed by Mr Uba Obande who came distant 3rd with 5 votes.
The exercise which took place today at the township stadium in Okpoga, Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State featured other contenders among who were Hon James Aboh Edeh, Chief Julius Iguve and Mr Augustine Ogbu who were all disqualified by the chairman of the electoral panel, Rev Blessed Onah for their inability to secure nominations.
The election which was adjudged to be free and fair by many observers including the Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue state on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Jerome Tor Shimbe and his counterpart on Labour and Gender Matters, Chief Ode Enyi was to allow for the replacement of the Late Chief Obande Obeya who untill he joined his ancestors was the occupant of the throne.
