The leading Social Democratic Party (SDP) 2023 presidential aspirant, Prince Adewole Adebayo has expressed sadness at the death of Alaafin of Oyo, recalls their 29 years of Friendship.
Adebayo joined thousands of mourners across the world to express sadness over the demise of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi III, Alaafin of Oyo, and to commiserate with the people of the South Western state.
Adebayo in its condolence message noted that he had enjoyed about three decades of friendship with the renowned traditional leader and that it was a “personal loss and national tragedy” to hear of the demise of the king after 51 years of reign on the throne.
In his words;
“ALAAFIN ASCENDS! With a deep sense of personal loss and national tragedy, I mourn the demise of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi III, Alaafin of Oyo after 51 years of meritorious graceful reign 29 of which Baba and I shared deep paternal, philosophical and ideological chemistry."
