Senator Musa reiterates the commitment of Red Chamber of National Assembly on Tuesday at the end of a two-day public hearing on the proposed Tax Reform Bills held in Abuja where recommendation of stakeholders and concerned Nigerians were submitted for consideration by the committee.
He said Nigeria want to be paired among those advanced economies that are today seen differently in the way and manner they collect and make the best and judicious use of all the revenue they collected.
He appreciates stakeholders and every Nigerians who has made input in the process, salute their efforts in enriching the conversation on the Tax Reform Bill.
“Your recommendations have enriched our discussions and will go a long way in shaping tax policies. We have critically examined key aspects of our tax system identifying areas of improvement to enhance revenue generation, promote investments, and ease the burden of taxpayers.
“The submissions made here will be thoroughly reviewed and considered as we refine these bills to ensure they serve the best interest of all Nigerians”.
He assured Nigerians that the committee will bring out the best of recommendations to the Senate and by extension the National Assembly on the legislation, on all the four bills that have been submitted by President Bola Tinubu.
Nigerians look forward to a Tax Reform Bill that is people’s oriented that will not spark inflation in the economy. This is the major concern of most Nigerian. Though, Nigerians are concerned that the Reform Bill seeks to increase vat from 7.5% to 10% and other critical sector of the economy
