The ceremony drew a large crowd of residents and stakeholders, including the member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Dr. Philip Agbese, who pledged his full support for the initiative. Agbese, while commending the organisers and the originator of the project, said he would continue to back programmes that promote unity and development across the area. He also announced a donation of N1 million to aid preparations for the carnival.
Scheduled for December 25–28, the Ogbadibo Carnival aims to showcase the cultural heritage of the Idoma people and serve as a platform for communal bonding, tourism promotion, and youth engagement.
Several prominent figures witnessed the unveiling, including Benue APC Chairman, Comrade Austin Agada; senatorial hopeful, Hon. Dr. Prince Onuh, former Ogbadibo LGA Leader, Hon. Frank Onuh; and Ogbadibo State Constituency lawmaker, Hon. Samuel Awuchi Agada. Others in attendance were Hon. Sylvester Mohammed Itodo; Princess Adah Enayi Rebecca of Okanga Sisters Worldwide; and the carnival initiator, Chief Manex Agada.
The event also spotlighted Agbese’s ongoing community-driven programmes. The Deputy Spokesman of the 10th House of Representatives has concluded arrangements for the Enone Peace and Unity Ward Cup, a football tournament scheduled for January, featuring 40 teams and prize packages worth N10 million, in addition to logistical support already delivered to all wards.
With political leaders and community stakeholders signaling strong backing, Ogbadibo is poised to host a vibrant and memorable carnival beginning December 25.
