TRUEPOINTNEWS ABUJA- The National Coordinator of the AKUME 4 TINIBU SUPPORT GROUP 2027, Ambassador Christie Mlan, has declared that opposition parties and their new entrants can only “try their luck,” insisting that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remain firmly on course for victory in the 2027 general elections.
Mlan made the remarks on Monday while reacting to the defection of former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the development as politically inconsequential to the growing strength of the APC.
According to her, while political realignments are expected in a democracy, they do not diminish what she described as the “unmatched performance and reform-driven leadership” of the Tinubu administration.
“Opposition parties may continue to realign and re-strategize, but the reality on ground is that Nigerians are already witnessing bold reforms and tangible progress under President Tinubu. These are not cosmetic changes, but foundational steps toward national stability and prosperity,” she said.
The AKUME support group coordinator further emphasized the critical role being played by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, noting that his experience and political depth have continued to strengthen governance and coordination within the administration.
She maintained that the synergy between President Tinubu and the SGF has brought about effective policy implementation and strengthened institutional delivery across key sectors.
Mlan dismissed suggestions that recent defections to opposition platforms could pose a serious threat to the APC’s dominance, arguing instead that the ruling party remains deeply rooted across the country with a track record that will speak loudly to voters in 2027.
“Our message is clear: Nigerians will judge based on performance, and by that standard, President Tinubu and the APC stand far ahead. Come 2027, victory is not just a projection—it is a certainty,” she stated.
She urged party supporters to remain focused, united, and committed to consolidating the gains of the administration, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge stronger despite opposition movements.
