The honour was bestowed on Governor Sule on Monday, August 24, 2026, when the leadership of the forum paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

The delegation, led by Prince Ezekiel Oruma, comprised the leadership of the Forum of Senior Special Assistants to Governors from Kogi, Niger, Benue, Plateau and Nasarawa States.

Speaking during the engagement, the delegation described Governor Sule as a strategic leader whose vision and approach to governance continue to provide inspiration for political and administrative actors across the region.

The appointment as Grand Patron also underscores the growing recognition of the North Central Governors’ Forum Chairman as a key figure in promoting regional unity, collaboration and collective development.
The visit provided an opportunity for the SSAs to strengthen their relationship with the governor and reaffirm their commitment to supporting initiatives capable of advancing the interests of the North Central region.

Governor Sule’s recognition by the forum comes at a time when stakeholders across the North Central are increasingly advocating stronger regional cooperation in addressing infrastructure, security, economic development and other challenges confronting the region.

The Forum of Senior Special Assistants to Governors, through the gesture, also signalled its confidence in Governor Sule’s capacity to provide strategic guidance and mentorship as the region continues to pursue a more coordinated development agenda.
