The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates from the Benue South Senatorial District have held a strategic meeting at the instance of the party’s senatorial candidate, Dr David Olofu, in Makurdi, as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

The meeting brought together the ADC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Barr. Abba John Abba, the four House of Representatives candidates and the eleven House of Assembly candidates from across the Benue South Senatorial District.

The meeting focused on strengthening cohesion among the candidates, enhancing synergy and coordination, and developing a unified strategy for the party’s campaign and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Participants discussed the need for candidates at all levels to work closely together, maintain effective communication and collectively drive the ADC’s message across the nine local government areas of Benue South.

The meeting also deliberated on preparations for the zonal campaign flag-off, with emphasis on ensuring effective coordination and a strong, united campaign structure across the senatorial district.

Dr Olofu used the occasion to announce the second phase of his scholarship scheme aimed at supporting students from Benue South.

The scholarship initiative forms part of his continued commitment to education and human capital development in the senatorial district, with the latest phase expected to further provide support to deserving students across the zone.

A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a merit award to Dr David Olofu by the National Association of Idoma Students (NAIS), in recognition of his relentless efforts towards the advancement of education and support for students in Benue South.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the ADC candidates to greater collaboration, cohesion and coordinated mobilisation as the party continues its preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Other party members and campaign team representatives accompanied some of the candidates to the meeting.
