The Benue State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Chief Ekpe Ogbu yesterday bagged the " Most Effective Commissioner of the Year" award.
The award was conferred on him by the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Benue State Council during her 2020 press week which held at the steam lounge Event Center Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
Presenting the award on behalf of the chapel, the State Chairman of the NUJ, Mrs Victoria Asha said that the award was in recognition of the commissioner's hard work, dedication to duty and outstanding performance in all assignment given to him, stressing that the award was to spur the former Chairman of Ado local government Councils to do more.
In her response, the Director, Urban Planning and Control, Mrs Linda Dashit who received the award on behalf of the commissioner noted that for journalists who were notable for criticizing political office holders to recognize the commissioner was an honour and eloquent testimony of Ekpe Ogbu's excellent work in the ministry.
Other distinguished Benue Sons and Daughters where also honored including the Senator representing Benue North West, Senator Orker Jev who won the Most Outstanding Legislator of the year Award.
