Prince of the Tyoor Tsuwa Adaaku dynasty, John Tor(hide) Tsuwa, is an authority in Defence and Strategic Studies.
He has devoted his post doctorate to teaching international economic relations, Nigerian foreign policy, international systems, conflict resolution, public enterprise, policy and decision making, security and peace at the Benue State University (BSU) Makurdi. He graduated from the same university in 2001.
In 2014, John Tor Tsuwa served as the Team Leader, UNDP Project on Deepening the Capacities of Community Organisations for Peace in Benue State to Effectively Address Conflicts Involving Pastoralists and Farming Communities.
With a combined total of over 120 scholarly articles, book chapters and books published internally, externally and internationally, Prince Tor Tsuwa envisions to creating a sustainainable environment of peace and prosperity in Benue State, through a government that is accountable to its people.
The Vandeikya born is saying that if trusted as Governor, he will establish a transparent and accountable government that is responsive to the needs of the people and committed to implementing policies that will promote the livelihood of the people of the state through the promotion of human capital, knowledge driven economy and infrastructure.
Simply put, Prince Tor Tsuwa's government, if formed shall focus on key factors that will lead to wealth creation and socio-economic development of the people of the state.
At the core of his agenda is to make Benue State a first point of destination for investors and tourists across the world by achieving the following:
1. Qualitative basic education 2. Job and wealth creation 3. Access to quality healthcare service 4. Development in agriculture and food security 5. Peace and security 6. Urban rural infrastructural development 7. Respect for the rule of law 8. Equal rights for all with particular interest on people with special needs 9. Environmental sustainability and productivity
Prince Tor Tsuwa delivered the least expensive recent local polls in the state, when he served as Chairman, Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) between 2016 and 2018.

John Tor Tsuwa, code named JTT2023, was born on 19th February, 1976. His birth coincided with the coronation of his uncle, Tyoor Tsuwa Adaaku, to succeed JTT's grandfather, Tsuwa, as Tyoor Mbagbera. He was rightly, named Tor(hide), in consonance with the beliefs and customs of the Tiv.
JTT received early education at LGEA Primary School Tsuwa, Mbagbera, Vandeikya LGA and Government Secondary School Gboko. He was also educated at Benue State University Makurdi, Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna and Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Badagry.
He belongs to several professional bodies and has made impactful contributions to community, socio-economic and religious development.
In his career, the 2023 APC hopeful has served variously as member of faculty committees, representative on boards as well as local Organising committees. He has presented dozens of papers in seminars, workshops and conferences.
Prince Tor Tsuwa is passionate about human capital and knowledge driven economy as wells as infrastructural development for the purpose of wealth creation and socio-economic development of the people of the state.
