The Benue State Steering Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the party’s structures across the state and sustaining the growing acceptance of the party among the people of Benue.

Rising from its meeting held at Naivasha Villas, Abuja, on October 7, 2025, the Committee expressed satisfaction with the rapid spread of the ADC’s message and philosophy across all parts of the state, attributing the success to the dedication and grassroots mobilization efforts of its state and local officials.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by the Media Chairman, Gabriel T. Nyitse, the Committee commended the State Protem Executive, led by Rt. Hon. Terngu Tsegba, for their tireless efforts in laying a solid foundation for the ADC in Benue State.

The Committee also appreciated the invaluable support of the local government and ward protem officials who have worked closely with the state leadership to ensure massive turnout and successful unveiling ceremonies in the local government areas covered so far.

It noted with delight the unity of purpose, commitment, and synergy demonstrated by members of the Steering Committee through their financial and material contributions, urging members to continue approaching party matters with openness and mutual trust.

“The easiest way to destroy a nascent organization is mutual distrust, lack of confidence in its functionaries, and internal discord,” the communiqué warned, emphasizing the need for members to maintain discipline and cohesion within the ranks.

The Committee expressed deep appreciation to the National Chairman of the ADC and former Senate President, Senator David Mark, and former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam, for their support and fatherly guidance, describing their roles as instrumental in ensuring that the ADC takes firm root in Benue State.

In recognition of their effective performance, the Committee passed a vote of confidence on the State Protem Officials and encouraged them to sustain the momentum until substantive executives are duly elected.

The Committee equally acknowledged the efforts of the Media Committee for its consistent publicity and strategic communication in advancing the visibility of the party, urging them to continue their commendable work.

It further received a briefing on the inaugural National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the ADC and resolved to implement its resolutions immediately upon formal directive from the national leadership.

The Committee also called on the remaining four local government areas yet to conduct their official unveiling of the party to expedite the process, while urging Steering Committee members to attend and support the forthcoming events to ensure statewide completion of the exercise.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to internal cohesion, grassroots mobilization, and full implementation of the ADC’s vision for inclusive political participation and good governance in Benue State.
