The event attracted prominent dignitaries including Distinguished Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura; the Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika; FCT ALGON Chairman, Hon. Danladi Chiya; Hon. Yamawo; DIG (Rtd) Aminu Sale Pai; Hon. Musa Arada; the Mandate Secretary of Agriculture, Suleiman Ango; and representatives of the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, TPL Sadiq Abubakar, among others.
Speaking at the occasion, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura commended the FCT Chapter for being among the first in the North Central geopolitical zone to inaugurate its coordinators, describing the initiative as a clear demonstration of organizational strength, strategic planning, and readiness for effective grassroots mobilization. He expressed strong confidence in the leadership of Hon. Mallam Abdullahi Adamu Candido, stating:
“With Candido at the helm of affairs, our hopes are truly going to be renewed.”
The former Nasarawa State Governor further highlighted Nigeria’s growing international recognition under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He noted that global powers such as the United States of America, China, Turkey, and the United Kingdom continue to engage with and extend invitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for strategic partnerships and diplomatic engagements, emphasizing that such interactions reflect increasing global confidence in Nigeria’s leadership, economic reforms, and forward-looking governance approach.
On his part, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika assured that the Renewed Hope vision for FCT original inhabitants would be strengthened through purposeful legislation and sustained advocacy, stressing that meaningful progress requires strategic engagement at the national level and unwavering commitment to inclusive development.
In his remarks, Hon. Mallam Abdullahi Adamu Candido described the challenges facing FCT indigenes and residents as deeply concerning, noting that sustainable solutions require experienced leadership with strong lobbying capacity and political influence. He cited leaders such as Senator Philip Aduda and Senator Wowo as examples of influential figures capable of advancing the interests of the FCT. He further charged stakeholders on the importance of continuity in governance, emphasizing the need to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to consolidate ongoing development initiatives.
Also speaking, the FCT State Woman Leader, Haj. Salamatu Bello Jibrin, called on women across the FCT to come out en masse, demonstrate unity, and actively participate in the forthcoming Area Council elections as a show of strength and commitment to the Renewed Hope vision.
The inauguration ceremony marked a renewed commitment by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to grassroots mobilization, inclusive leadership, and sustained support for the Renewed Hope Agenda in the Federal Capital Territory.
