The Akume 4 Tinubu Support Group 2027 has intensified its political mobilization ahead of the next general elections, declaring unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, while projecting a potential shift of presidential power to the North-Central region after 2027.
Speaking at a world press conference held at Barcelona Hotel, Wuse 2, Abuja, shortly after a courtesy visit to the wife of the SGF, the group said its nationwide structure is being strengthened to ensure the re-election of President Tinubu.
The group, comprising politicians, technocrats, and religious leaders, speaking through its National Coordinator, Ambassador Christie Mlan, reiterated that the current administration has recorded notable achievements across key sectors, which, according to them, justifies a second term. They stressed that their campaign is rooted not only in loyalty but also in conviction about the direction of governance under Tinubu.
“We are not leaving anything to chance,” the group stated, emphasizing that its members are already mobilizing support across the country with a strategy likened to a coordinated national movement.
Beyond 2027, the group introduced a broader political vision, expressing confidence that the presidency could rotate to the North-Central geopolitical zone. Within that context, they pointed to Senator George Akume as a strong potential contender, citing what they described as his “intimidating democratic credentials,” vast political experience, and national appeal.
According to the group, Akume’s long-standing role in Nigeria’s democratic evolution and his current position as SGF place him in a strategic position for future leadership considerations.
They further argued that equity, fairness, and political balance support the case for a North-Central presidency after Tinubu’s second term, adding that early conversations around the region’s prospects are both necessary and timely.
The press conference marks a significant escalation in the group’s political activities, signaling a dual-track agenda: consolidating support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 while quietly positioning the North-Central—and Akume in particular—for the next phase of national leadership.
