Former Senate President and National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, on Thursday decorated two police officers, Supol Sunday Obekpa and Supol Francis Iduma, who were recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

The decoration ceremony took place at Mark’s Apo residence in Abuja and was attended by members of staff of the party, family members of the officers and close associates.

Mark, who performed the decoration alongside his wife, Mrs Helen Onma Mark, commended the officers for their years of loyalty, discipline and professionalism while serving in his security detail. He noted that both officers had worked with him since his days in the Senate and described their promotion as well deserved.

He praised their hard work, dedication and commitment to duty over the years, noting that they had remained dependable and professional in the discharge of their responsibilities. According to him, officers with such qualities are rare to find.

Mark also urged them to see their new rank as a call to greater responsibility and encouraged them to remain committed to the values of discipline, integrity and service.
Speaking on behalf of the staff, Senator Suleiman Adokwe, Chief of Staff to the ADC National Chairman, congratulated the officers on their promotion. He described them as disciplined and loyal officers who had demonstrated dedication in the course of their service.

Adokwe said their elevation was well deserved and encouraged them to continue to uphold the high standards that had earned them recognition.

The event ended with goodwill messages even as Mrs Mark hosted the celebrants to lavished meal
