In a press statement, Ogbu said he received the news of the attacks with deep pain and expressed concern over the continued loss of innocent lives and the displacement of families across Benue State.
He called on the Federal Government, the Benue State Government, security agencies and other relevant stakeholders to take immediate and decisive action to end the bloodshed, apprehend those responsible, and restore peace and confidence in the affected communities.
According to him, the primary responsibility of every government is the protection of lives and property, stressing that Benue people deserve to live safely in their ancestral homes without fear of violent attacks.
Ogbu further expressed solidarity with the people of Otukpo and all communities affected by insecurity, noting that an attack on any Benue community is an attack on the entire state.
He extended his condolences to families who lost their loved ones and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, speedy recovery for the injured, and divine comfort for all those affected.
The ADC House of Assembly candidate reiterated his call for lasting peace and security in Benue, urging all stakeholders to work together to bring an end to the recurring cycle of violence in the state.
