The Royal Father made this known recently in his palace, Pankshin while receiving the delegation of the Kwararafa Ethnic Nationalities Renaissance Assembly. led by the "Akii" – Shield of the Kwararafa Empire, Retired Air Vice Marshal Monday Riku Morgan.
The Ngolong Ngas acknowledged that such a movement brings people of the same ethnic and cultural background together to find lasting solutions to their common challenges.
He noted that unity under one heritage provides immense advantages in creating platforms for trade, investment, and collective empowerment.
Adding that it encourages scholarship, mentorship and educational support for the younger generation
It also Preserves and promotes language, traditions and values,
providing a united front to address common challenges and speak with one voice.
He further commended His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali Matakhiswen, the Aku Uka of Wukari, the Father of Kwararafa, for fronting the project of unity among the Kwararafa people by appointing Retired Air Vice Marshal, Monday Riku Morgan as the Akkii– the Shield of the Kwararafa Renaissance Assembly.
In his remarks, the Akii – Shield of the Kwararafa Empire, Retired Air Vice Marshal Monday Riku Morgan, while thanking His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali Matakhiswen, the Aku Uka of Wukari for finding him worthy of the traditional title, said he was in the palace to seek the blessings and prayers of the Ngolong Ngas, who is the leader of the Kwararafa ethnic groups covering thirty Local Government Areas in Plateau State.
He said the purpose of the visit was to partner with him by releasing sons and daughters of the land to work together for the success of the Kingdom.
He stated that in the course of his service as an Air Force pilot before retirement, he had the privilege of serving both within and outside the country and described his appointment to lead a group of people who are power brokers that have contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria in the Military, economic, academia and politics as a great honour and an opportunity to serve his people by bringing them together for common interests.
Rtd AVM Morgan stated that he needs the prayers and wise counsel of Traditional Rulers of the stock to succeed in the assignment.
Earlier, while introducing the Akii – Shield of Kwararafa, Rtd AVM Monday Riku Morgan, Dr. Odate Peter Kevin said he is an officer who has brought pride to Nigeria through distinguished service, having worked in and commanded all the units required of a senior military officer.
He informed the Ngolong Ngas that in less than two months since receiving the assignment from the Aku Uka, the Akii has engaged elites, youths, and communities across Kwararafa land.
The mission to Ngas land, he said, is to galvanize the people together, build relationships, and work for the good of the Empire.
He assured the Ngolong Ngas of the Assembly’s commitment to work with all Traditional Rulers of Kwararafa ethnic groups, and thanked him for embracing all as the father of Kwararafa on the Plateau.
Also contributing, a representative of the Ngas Development Association, Professor Noel Wannang, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, described the Kwararafa Kingdom as a great kingdom, culturally rich and, indeed, one of the unifying forces in Nigeria, with historical ties that extend across the entire West Africa.
He however noted that the most unfortunate challenge remains the missing binding factor that has not yet fully united the people.
Stressing that the critical work of Nation building cannot be done by one person alone, he added that there are those who are perpetually seeking to create division among the people.
He expressed confidence that with visionary leaders like the Aku Uka, the Ngolong Ngas, and the Akii, who efforts are not for any selfish interest but for the betterment of the country and for the collective inclusivity of all the people of Nigeria, the Kingdom will return to normalcy.
Professor Wannang noted that this struggle is not just a personal fight, but a collective fight that involves all the people, and assured that everybody shall always be there to support the movement.
