Benue state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Chief Ekpe Ogbu today described Late Mama Agbenu-Igwe Ameh, mother of the Assistant Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Benue State chapter, Hon Rose Ameh as a woman with enviable friendly disposition and immeasurable kindness.
The commissioner while speaking at the requiem service in honor of mama in Igumale, Ado local government area also stated that the deceased was a perfect example of a virtuous mother who lived a life of dedication to the service of God and humanity adding that her sterling qualities impacted positively on the lives of her children and several others under her tutelage.
The former chairman of Ado local government council further stressed that though mama transition at a time her wise counsel was most needed was painful and has left a void in hearts that would be difficult to fill, he however, urged her children especially the state PDP Executive member, madam Rose Ameh to take solace in the fact that her mother who lived above hundred years was mother to all.
In his sermon titled " it will not always be so" Rev. Jen Tivkaa Moses who took scripture reading from Hebrew 9:27, encouraged people to use their privilege positions to help others like mama did, emphasizing the vanity in primitive accumulation of wealth at the expense of lending a hand.
"If God blesses you, instead of building a tall wall around you, it is better to make a long table for people to surround you" Rev Moses said
The burial was punctuated with many dignitaries among whom were Senator Abba Moro, Hon. James Oche, Mr. Elvis Attah, Chief Patrick Ogbu, Justice James Ogebe, Hon Anthony Ogbu, Hon Steven Aluna and Justice Itodo.
Others were, Hon Amina Audu, Hon Damian Ujor, Pastor Attah Okibe, Nelson Ogbu, Engr Mike Ojah, Hon Phillip Okpekwu, among others.
