Governor Samuel Ortom today at the New Banquet Hall of Benue Peoples House Makurdi, received a plethora of awards from groups and organisations.
The awards included ‘Most IT Friendly Governor of Benue State’ by Nigeria Computer Society, Benue State chapter; ‘Peace, Food Security and Nutrition Champion Award’ by International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD; Plaque by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai in recognition of the Governor's strides in security; Association of Professional Printers of Nigeria award as ‘Grand Patron of the association’ and another award of excellence to the Governor by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria? PFN.
Others awards were from UN Economic & Social Council UNESC as its Ambassador; and ‘Number one farmer in the agricultural value chain in Benue State’ by National Ginger Association of Nigeria and "Friend and motivator of Benue Nurses" by the national association of Nigeria Nurses, Benue State chapter.
Governor Ortom while responding to the awards said he was humbled by the honour. He attributed the honour to the entire State Executive Council and people of the state who gave him the opportunity to serve them.
