Benue State government is set to distribute over three (3) Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLITN) across households in the 23 local government areas of the state.
Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Emmanuel Saleh Ikwulono disclosed this today while embarking on an inspection tour of the storage facilities where the nets were kept emphasizing that the state government was prepared to minimize cases of malaria especially among pregnant women and children in the State.
He said the tour of the warehouses became necessary in order for him to ascertain the condition of the nets and to ensure safety and proper storage of the materials before the commencement of distribution.
Recall that LLIN Campaign Coordinating Network (LCCN) was recently inaugurated with the sole aim of eliminating malaria from Benue State.
On the entourage of the commissioner was the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Health and Human Services Dr. David Tsevende and the Director Pharmaceutical Services at the Benue State Ministry of Health, Mrs. Batur Gbenda Sewuese.
