The Executive Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has reiterated his commitment towards the development of Science and Technology Education in Benue State and it's capacity to support the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The Governor who was represented by the Honorable Commissioner for Energy Science and Technology, Hon. Dr-Godwin Emmanuel Oyiwona at a lecture held during the National Defense College Course 29 Study Tour to Benue State on Monday 16th November 2020 in a paper presentation themed; "Promoting Science and Technology Education for the Fourth Industrial Revolution", said the Fourth Industrial Revolution represents a paradigm shift in the way we live, work and relate with one another. It represents a new chapter in human development orchestrated by extraordinary technological advancement.
Governor Samuel Ortom in his submission said that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is more than just technology-driven change; it is an opportunity to help everyone including leaders, policy makers and people from all income groups and nations to harness converging technologies in order to create an inclusive human centred future. He also said, he is compelled to take sides with Albert Einstein when he said, "Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think". With the Fourth Industrial Revolution now in motion, our educational system in Nigeria is over due for revamp. Now, we must think of our future and how well to secure it.
