The immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and People's Democratic Party, PDP, aspirant for Otukpo/Akpa state constituency in the just concluded party primaries, Hon Ahubi Johnson Egli today in his country home of Otukpo gathered his supporters and formally declared support for the winner of the primary, Barrister Abba John Abba.
The former lawmaker who said though he had reservations over the process that led to his eventual defeat at the primary, however disclosed that as a loyal party man and having consulted with party leaders and teaming supporters has resolved to bury his personal ambition and work for the success of his party in the forthcoming general elections with the appeal to all his supporters to ensure victory for the assembly candidate.
Supporters of the host from the 7 council wards of the constituency including Adakole Elijah, Ediga Akpa, Pius Angbo, David Ekwo, Inalegwu Bruce, ward chairmen, women leaders and many others in their separate remarks expressed sadness over the electoral misfortune of the former Deputy Speaker whom they described as a kind hearted and generous politician that have been of immense benefit to both them and the party.
While pledging to work for the victory of the party in the general elections, they all urged the assembly flag bearer, Barr. Abah to emulate the virtues of Egli in order to ensure success at the polls.
On his part, leader of PDP in Akpa district where the candidate hails from, Comrade Abba Adaudu thanked Egli, his supporters and the entire Otukpo PDP members for accepting to work for the victory of the party even as he apologized should there be any infraction during the delegates election.
