A political platform under the banner of AKUME 4 TINUBU NORTH CENTRAL has strongly condemned the recent surge of deadly attacks in parts of Benue State, which have claimed several lives and left many communities reeling in grief.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its North-Central Coordinator, Hon. Christie Mlan, the group described the killings as “senseless acts of violence” and expressed deep solidarity with the affected families and communities.
"We are deeply saddened by these acts of brutality and devastation. The sanctity of human life must be upheld, and we urge security agencies to act swiftly to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice," the statement read.
"Senator Akume's tireless advocacy for the people of Benue and the broader North Central region remains a beacon of hope. His role in galvanizing federal attention to this crisis shows his enduring commitment to the welfare of his people," the group added.
AKUME 4 TINUBU NORTH CENTRAL, a movement known for championing good governance and political engagement across the region, reiterated its commitment to peace, development, and the protection of lives and property.
The statement also called on all stakeholders, including traditional rulers, youth organizations, civil society groups, and political leaders, to work collaboratively with government and security forces to bring about lasting peace in the troubled areas.
The renewed violence in Benue comes amid persistent communal tensions and calls for greater federal intervention in addressing the root causes of insecurity in the state.
