The Committee has given the oil company an ultimatum to appear on July 1, 2025, or face the consequences.
It further enjoined the oil management body to heed to the date or suffer the invocation of the constitutional power of the Senate.
“If they don’t appear, whatever is contained in the Auditor-General’s query will be adopted by this Committee and forwarded to be part of our reports to the Senate”, it said.
Recall that Senate Public Accounts Committee chaired by Senator Aliyu Wadada last week issued an ultimatum for the appearance of the leadership of the NNPCL following a grilling session during which the oil company’s records were scrutinised.
During the session, the Committee raised concerns over unexplained figures listed under “accrued expenses” and “receivables” in the audited reports covering six years.
The Committee also discovered multiple discrepancies in the submissions presented by NNPCL’s Chief Financial Officer, Dapo Segun, along with other top company officials, based on the external auditors’ reports.
