Igumale, the political heartbeat of Ado Local Government Area, witnessed a bold show of strength and unity as leaders and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) formally unveiled the party’s structure and presented aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The event, convened by Chief Patrick Ogbu, a Former Chairman of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, and member of the Benue State ADC Steering Committee, turned into a rallying point for party faithful across the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo axis, with a resounding call for consolidation and grassroots mobilisation.

Addressing the gathering, Ogbu urged the people of Idoma land to embrace the ADC as a credible and stable political alternative. He emphasised the need for like-minded individuals to align with the party in order to “do things differently” and reposition the zone for greater political relevance.

He noted that the ADC, under the national leadership of Senator David A. B. Mark, has continued to provide direction and stability, stressing that the party remains united and free of factional divisions in Benue State.
The unveiling also served as a platform for aspirants to formally introduce themselves and declare their intentions, in what observers described as an early but strategic move towards 2027.

Those physically present included Hon. Agada Ogwuche Guchi, Hon. Ralph Otobo Odo, and Hon. Steven Adoyi Ojogbane, all aspiring to represent Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Each aspirant outlined their vision and pledged to work harmoniously with others to strengthen the party’s base.

Other contenders for the same federal seat — Hon. Ejembi Inalegwu Adaje and Hon. Emmanuel Orih — were represented by delegations, signaling broad-based interest and engagement within the party.
The ADC Governorship aspirant, Engr. Andrew Abah, attended in person, reinforcing the party’s expanding statewide outlook, while Senatorial aspirant, Dr. David Olofu, sent a strong delegation that made notable contributions and charged party members to remain united and focused.

In their separate remarks, the aspirants unanimously expressed appreciation to Senator David Mark, the National Chairman of the ADC, for what they described as visionary leadership. They reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and pledged collective commitment to building a formidable structure capable of delivering electoral victory.

The event was marked by impressive attendance, colourful cultural dance performances, and the symbolic blessings of aspirants by traditional rulers — gestures that underscored grassroots acceptance and cultural legitimacy.

With aspirants openly declaring ambitions and stakeholders projecting unity, the Igumale unveiling signaled more than a ceremonial gathering; it marked the intensification of ADC’s political mobilisation in Benue South as the countdown to 2027 gradually begins.
