In his address, Waya emphasized the need for a solution to the state's and nation's challenges, citing this as the reason for his interest in leading the state. "It has become very incumbent for all of us to find a solution to what has befallen us not only as a state but entire Nation," he said.
Waya restated his seven-point promise, summarized into three key areas: security, development, and unity, highlighting these as the issues he aims to address as governor.
He advised fellow aspirants to focus on presenting alternative solutions rather than criticizing the ruling APC. "Instead of repeating abusively what the APC has done, it's imperative to mention what the party can do outside the bad governance of APC," he said.
To support the incoming state executive committee, Waya donated ₦3 million, among other financial gestures.
Distinguished Senetor Emmanuel Yisa Orker Jev Party leader in Benue, cautioned aspirants against divisive campaign tactics, emphasizing the importance of unity to win the election. "At the end of the day, only one person will emerge, so let's avoid foul language and focus on winning the election," he said. He expressed confidence in the party's strength, saying, "ADC is the party to beat." Senator Jev appreciated the support from sponsors, especially the gubernatorial aspirants, and assured that the party is on solid ground despite rumors of internal conflicts.
Other notable speakers at the event included Former MRMR Chairman Rt. Hon Terngu Tsegba, Barr. Alex Adum, and a National Delegation of ADC, who echoed similar sentiments of unity and the need for a change in leadership in Benue State.
