OTUKPO, BENUE STATE — Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, PhD, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy Governorship Candidate, Dr. Ogbenjuwa Oyije Ocheakiti, have paid a condolence visit to the people of Efeyi Ugboju in Otukpo Local Government Area following the latest wave of deadly attacks that claimed several lives.
The visit came amid growing concern over the resurgence of violent attacks across Benue State, particularly in communities within Benue South Senatorial District.

Addressing grieving families and community members, Senator Moro lamented the continued bloodshed, describing the killings as a tragic reminder of the worsening security situation in the state. He called on government at all levels to take decisive action to protect lives and property, stressing that no community should be abandoned to the mercy of armed attackers.

Dr. Ogbenjuwa, a security expert and the PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate, criticised what he described as the Benue State Government's failure to effectively tackle the security challenges confronting rural communities. According to him, the state's security architecture has failed to provide adequate protection for vulnerable residents, leaving many communities exposed to repeated attacks.

He urged the Federal Government and security agencies to immediately reinforce security operations in the affected areas, restore public confidence, and bring those responsible for the killings to justice.

The two PDP leaders also sympathised with families who lost loved ones and assured the people of their continued commitment to advocating stronger security measures and lasting solutions to the persistent violence in Benue State.
