Comrade Paul Edoh Jnr. who is the
Team leader, Benue State APC for the Progressives has said the recent reactions trailing the conduct of APC State Congress across the country did not leave Benue State out of the mess.
The State congress which he noted was largely characterized by inordinate power play also failed to pay attention to the ideal of a political party as a platform to forming government and to use the same government to give effect to her manifesto, rather he claimed that he saw dances of shame in various measures and colouration.
In Benue State, for instance, the team leader said he observed that the State Congress only displayed how a supposed leader of the party, Senator George Akume moved against Zoning and with fragrant disregard for leaders like Senator Ameh Ebute (Former Senate President of Nigeria and a member of the Board of Trustees), Chief Audu Ogbeh, Chief Steven Lawani, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime (the Governorship Candidate of APC in Benue State, 2019 and by reason of which, the leader of the party in the state), Rt. Hon Heman Hembe, Chief B.I. Gamade, Prof Steve Ugbah, Engr. Mogan Ekwoche and several others, imposed his aid and staff, Austine Agada as the State Chairman against the consensus of leadership and preference for Barrister Omale Omale.
Reacting to the online display of list of State Chairmen purportedly emanating from the National Secretariat, Barr. Omale Omale on his part asked party faithful to disregard the content of the said list and described it as the product of the handwork of mischief makers who do not mean well for the party.
Omale Omale, who is the outgiong State Legal Adviser of APC has severally exposed the provisions of the party's constitution and the guidelines for the conduct of State Congress in his post Congress activities maintained that the finality of decisions on Congress matters rest with the National Working Committee ( now Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee- CECPC) following the recommendations of the Congress Appeal Committee and has urged members and his supporters to stay calm as he awaits the out come of his appeal.
Omale Omale Esq also assured his supporters and party faithfuls who are post to leaving the party if that is the case to stay calm and continue to maintain their membership of the party and urged them to remain optimistic that justice is on their side, just a matter of time.
On the authenticity or otherwise of the said list, Omale Omale Esq stressed that he was taking steps to verify from the National Secretariat and will revert asap. He further reassured that assuming that their fears are confirmed, he will pursue their collective mandate of his consensus Chairmanship of APC in Benue State to any other external platform available to him including but not limited to the court option to ask for an answer on whether a political party who gave herself a constitution and provides for a guidelines for the doing of an act can detract therefrom and benefit thereby. He opined that it is the sincere answer to this question that lies their chances and justice.
Omale while reacting to the mass defection hitting the party in Benue State following the various cogresses including Rt Hon. Baba Odeh of Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency, Rt. Hon. John Dyhge of Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, Ochacho, the Business Mogul and their large supporters and followers, and the faith of the other House of Assembly members and many others stressed that development worries him greatly.
He maintained that this avoidable political plunder which was largely caused by the high handedness and a vast misplacement of critical stakeholders interest by a supposed leader of the party in Benue State was responsible. He assured the party of his unflinching commitment to percify those leaving the party to come back and help strengthen the party that they labourusly built and that his Chairmanship will harmonize all stakeholders interest, coordinate their several interests for the overall wellbeing of their party in Benue State and beyond.
