...As Residents Hail Ortom's Performance

Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Jude Uungwa has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on NKST Yina-International Market road and Federal Low Cost, Naka Road-Bambam, stating that the contractor was working according to specifications.
The commissioner stated this Friday, January 28th, 2022 while undertaking inspection of roads under construction in Makurdi, the state capital
According to him, "I must say without mincing words that I am satisfied with the pace of work. Of all the sites that I have visited, Privent Construction Nigeria Limited is the only company that has adhered to the specifications," Engineer Uungwa stated.
He expressed appreciation to the Governor for approving the construction of the roads, declaring, "these roads are very strategic. He has brought succour to the residents of these areas."
The commissioner assured people of the state that the Governor was working to ensure that they enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Project Manager, Privent Construction Nigeria Limited, Engineer Bem Ikpa disclosed that the construction work has reached 73% and gave assurance that they will be completed and handed over to the government in the next three months.
"Privent is known for quality and timely delivery of work. These projects will not be an exception," he stated.
Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Transport, Engineer Hembadoom Nongo explained that the construction work was progressing steadily and expressed optimism that they will be delivered in record time as stipulated in the contractual agreement.
A resident of NKST, Yina-International Market road, Mrs Victoria Upev in a remark said she was grateful to God for the work. "I wish to thank God Almighty because He was the one that gave our Governor the wisdom to approve the construction of this road.
"The construction of this road has alleviated our suffering. In the past, residents of this area suffer from flood, especially my house. Each time it rains, my house was usually flooded. With the construction, we will not experience anything of sort again. The Governor has done a great work."
She however appealed to the Commissioner and Governor Ortom to extend the water channel on the major drain.
Asked to assess the performance of the Governor, she said she was pleased with his performance.
"I was thanking the Governor for the Nyior Gungu road not knowing he was also coming to construct my own. I pray that God reward and give him more resources to continue the good work,"
On her part, Mrs Victoria Umerseobi, who disclosed that she has lived at the Federal Low cost-Bambam road for 15 years, pointed out that she was happy with the governor for the project.
"I thank Governor Ortom for this work. We have been looking forward to this day. I encourage him to continue on this path of progress and not pay attention to those who are out to distract him."
